Task Programme

Sunday

5th October 2008

Rostherne Mere (SJ743847). Our tasks at this lovely Natural England site are usually constructional and this one will be no exception: either bridge-building or path work. Leader: Peter (07719 909557).

Sunday

19th October 2008

Middlewood Way (SJ927765). We’ll be working with the Macclesfield Rangers and doing some hedgelaying on this route for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. We’ve worked on this particular stretch before so it’ll be a chance to see how last year’s hedgelaying efforts are looking! Leader: Gary (07768 278371).

Sunday

2nd November 2008

Hardy Farm (SJ811928). This is the first of two tasks we’re doing with the Friends of Chorlton Meadows, who have received lottery funding to work towards the restoration of the old orchard at this Mersey Valley site. At this stage the work will be mainly pruning of trees and shrubs, and scrub control. Leader: Elaine (07986 686526).

Sunday

16th November 2008

Christ Church, Timperley (SJ790881). This churchyard is an oasis of green in Timperley, and we’ll be helping to maintain it, with work on the boundary wall, path edgings and other areas. Leaders: Emma & Michael (0161 929 9475 or 07968 177514).

Sunday

14th December 2008

Middlewood Way (SJ927765). The second of our two hedgelaying tasks this winter for the Macclesfield Rangers, on this route which follows the line of the former Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway. Leader: Julian (07957 355468).
