All one-day tasks take place on Sundays: meet by the Malt Shovels pub, Stamford Street, Altrincham at 9.30 a.m. unless otherwise arranged. If you want to come on a task PLEASE CONTACT THE LEADER to say so, and to agree details (there may be a last-minute change). If you wish you can arrange with the leader to make your own way to a worksite and meet us there. Ordnance Survey grid references are given where possible.

Fallowfield Loop (SJ876938). This walking and riding path (formerly a railway route) is a popular green corridor across south Manchester. We will be working with the Friends of the Fallowfield Loop and work may include preparation for a new community orchard (see task in four weeks’ time). Chorlton Water Park (SJ824919). Today’s task with the Mersey Valley Wardens will involve some constructional work on a sloped path which is starting to subside and, depending on the weather, some work to prevent erosion of an area of the lake’s bank. Longford Park, Stretford (SJ807945). We have worked at this site in years past, and since the Friends of Longford Park are this year celebrating the park’s centenary we are back to help with a variety of tasks which may include work on the wildlife area and a new kitchen garden. Residential weekend in the Peak District National Park. As usual for the group’s weekends away, we’ll be working for the Peak Park Rangers and staying in their volunteer accommodation near Grindleford.
